Pros

Great position when working with a passionate team of people. Good position for people with lots of personality. The company truly does want to offer their best to each customer.

Cons

There isn't much flexibility to scheduling. Many days of working 8-10 hour shifts without a lunch break. Most days you wont know what time you will get off. There are many inconveniences; carry larger equipment in your vehicle, mandatory trips back to the head office, and sometimes traveling far distances to sometimes include overnight stays.

Pros

Strong since of community at local level, and support from Directors and regional managers however all that support is no longer employed.

Cons

Revolving CEO lead to new strategic focus every 3 years. Round after round of layoffs, mergers, restructures. I went through no less than 6 during my 5 years as a senior manager. Lost local control, and ability to build relationships with accounts. Closed offices based on lease agreements rather than area performance. I would be very careful to ask questions about culture, and tenure of staff, ask how many offices were closed or restructures have happened since Shutterfly, and then Apollo Global Capital. Apollo Global Management usually holds onto assets for 3-5 years, we are past that mark so I would be expecting that they will be breaking up Shutterfly in the near future if it is no longer profitable.
