Pros
It takes a really long time to get trained, get your clearance, prove you have all the latest designer vaccinations, pass your company physical and then you can work. They will pay for your school if your not on mission essential overtime. So in a nutshell it will be about 9 months to a year you get paid to look pretty.
Cons
Working on obsolete equipment. Management doesn't care about improvements as long as your charging your time card right. Lots of waiting to ride a base taxi to your work place. No cell phones at work. Lots of time using blinky old computers. Honestly if you like to work hard and play hard this is not the place. Smoking in a designated room that is not near the building on your 10 minute break. Don't forget your union negotiations are tied to employees in other states so no real union just pay your dues. Don't get hurt or cough you might be waiting to come back to work once you prove that you are in good medical shape and prove it to the company contracted clinic. Management loves double speak it almost sounds like yes but the answer is always no . The buildings are old and you are required to wear a uniform and in the summer time get used to a fan roaring in your ear.
