Pros

The patients and most coworkers were great. Not all. Most of the other nurses were wonderful to work with and helpful, while others liked to try to dump their work on you. I loved my job while I was there but things took a turn for the worse once they hired new lower level management. Yearly bonuses were decent. Mileage reimbursement is good

Cons

-They claim "paid holidays", but you are paying for the day off with your PTO. This is a flat out lie and misrepresentation. -New management in the last year has ruined the agency. They don't care about you as a person or employee, don't answer emails, don't make any of the changes they insist they will. -Documentation and charting is cumbersome as usual and need to have it in within a certain timeframe however nurses are allowed to go days or even a week without finishing their charts which puts other staff in tough predicaments when we can't access the most up to date information and medication changes, which is dangerous for the pt, and management does nothing to correct their behavior. Senior nurses are allowed to do whatever they want with no repercussion. -Management tries to put their responsibilities on the nurses, for example talking to another nurse about why they're putting patients on daily visits and giving them recommendations, when it is not my job to supervise other RNs. -Pay is bad compared to other agencies for the same role, though they claim they do a pay analysis with other competing agencies. -They allow nurses to push their visits to nights and weekends when they don't feel like doing them or go home early. This was never allowed with previous director. There's so much more , too much to list. If you are going to accept a position here, make sure the pay is worth it to deal with the new incompetent directors. $69k a year or $33/hr for 60 hour workweeks isn't enough when other nurses working 30-40 hours are making closer to $85 a year/40-42 hourly.

Pros

Supportive senior leadership that genuinely cares about employees and the mission. The culture is friendly and centered on helping patients and families. The work has a real sense of purpose, and it's rewarding to know what you do makes a difference. Employees are trusted with a good level of autonomy while still having support when needed. Benefits are solid, and the organization does a good job of recognizing teammates through regular appreciation and celebration of accomplishments. Overall, it's a positive place to build a career if you're looking for meaningful work and a supportive team.

Cons

There are no major drawbacks that stand out, although the parking spaces at the corporate office are very tight.

Pros

Serving patients and their loved ones during difficult times and easing distressing symptoms.

Cons

The agency is operating off of a decades long reputation but the culture has declined. Many of the leaders who were well-versed in regulations and Medicare conditions of participation as well as leadership skills are no longer with the agency. Many in the senior leadership team push a for-profit agenda, cutting costs at the detriment of patients and staff. Clinical staff are not respected or valued and the autonomy that made working as a clinician at the agency so rewarding is gone. I have heard members at the highest level say racist things, belittle staff with health issues such as diabetes, and bully staff members. Accountability and progressive discipline are applied selectively to workers who push against the negative culture and advocate for staff and patients. New positions within the agency are created to promote certain employees, and departments are restructured to eliminate some of the most knowledgeable and mission driven employees who speak up against wrongdoing, bullying, and unethical decisions. Management acts as if staff should be grateful to work there when they should value staff and appreciate that they chose to work at the agency. There is little to no diversity and management is staffed largely by white women. I did not realize how far things had declined until I left the agency.
