Pros
Meditech is as financially stable as they come. Even in flat years, there are no cash flow issues, so annual bonuses and profit sharing aren't greatly affected. The day-to-day work is challenging but rewarding, and my co-workers are all a pleasure to work with (seriously; there's not a "bad" person in my department). As an electronic health record company, their medical insurance is, as can be expected, top notch, with 90% coverage for me and my entire family. It's benefits like these that help make staying pretty enticing. Some departments have fully embraced Agile methodology, which is refreshing.
Cons
The base salary is lower than industry average, and while annual raises are consistent, there is less emphasis on personal performance and more on overall company performance which drives the size of the average raise. This is slowing changing, which is good, but needs to be completely re-vamped in my opinion. Additionally, while I have learned a lot in my position, the only place for me to advance is into a Lead role. Otherwise, the only promotion available is into a supervisory position.
