Pros

Tech-driven company culture with a remote work option.

Cons

Upper management rushed too fast and hired staff who did not possess a thorough and adequate understanding of how Social Security disability works and were only focused about curating a large "customer base." There tended to be a lot of drama, miscommunication and disagreement amongst upper management which negatively affected staff morale. Their main goal was to file as many online initial applications as possible, leaving the rest up to the case managers to figure out on their own. There was a lack of basic procedure and technology to adequately support the case managers, which resulted in a lot of stress, confusion, and unnecessary extra work. Furthermore, they advertised themselves as a firm who helps those with mental health conditions *only* so the pre-qualifying requirements were very basic. The intake team was pushed to submit as many apps as possible, which inevitably resulted in a lot of weak, baseless claims and inaccurate and/or missing information on the clients' applications.

Pros

Mindset's mission statement and core values are meaningful and shared by the entire company, which means that where there is empathy and support for clients, there is equal empathy and support for other team members. This translates to meaningful growth opportunities, generous PTO/sick leave/bereavement leave, healthcare coverage, flexibility day-to-day, and clear communication & support from management.

Pros

- mostly independent work with a lot of support from Sam and the leads - workflow setup allows for great work life balance - training is straightforward and doesn’t drag on - despite everyone being remote there is great collaboration among the team - meetings twice a week are a nice way to voice concerns and get everyone on the same page

Cons

- having to be available for incoming calls for most of the day makes it very difficult to focus on and complete tasks in a timely manner - the admin site can appear disorganized and hard to read - multiple points of contact by which clients can reach us is overwhelming - definitely not an entry level position, which is made pretty clear by the interview questions
