Pros

working with animals adopting out shelter animals

Cons

The wages are low especially for those who are not related to management or not good friends with them. NVA constantly forcing management to increase profit and decrease labor costs. Staff was cut by 75%. The remaining staff must do the work of 2-3 people. There is a hiring freeze, and the most recent raise was just 1%. It's impossible to take any time off since there aren't enough employees to cover shifts and overtime is forbidden! The facility is run down and poorly maintained. When I ask to have something fixed or updated management says we can't do it if it costs time or money! NVA's motto is PROFIT BEFORE PETS

Pros

Helps the hospital afford things such as advanced monitoring equipment

Cons

Took away all part time employees benefits such as pto, sick time, and holiday pay. They tried to “smooth it over” by doing a calculation based on how much you worked the past two years that decides how much of a “bonus” you get every 6 months to make up for taking away our pto, sick time and holiday pay. It’s been 7 months and we have yet to receive that. Also this is only for 2 years and then after that you’re SOL.
