Pros

Work from home, decent benefits, growing company (too fast), some good peers and leaders, unlimited PTO...good luck actually taking it!

Cons

The organization is growing to capture market share, yet is not growing support functions in lockstep. This results in 50+ hour work weeks for IT, taking on workloads that aren't relevant to the work that a team actually does, being blamed for issues that aren't yours, cleanup when other organizations make a mess, overwhelming ticket loads, etc. If you want to get experience in supporting decent equipment as well as junk in the field, this would be a great opportunity for you. Project workload is overwhelming, and the teams (which are too small) are expected to put out fires and move projects forward at the same time. Neither are done well, and leadership gaslights. The fix? Hire more Project Managers, who only create more assignments and meetings for the few engineers that actually do the work. The company touts an amazing culture, and honestly the mission is amazing. However, the culture is a thin veneer much like Ikea furniture; nice looking but toxic particle board underneath. When specific organizations in IT are singled out for different treatment than others, that's the definition of toxic. Non-diverse people are pushed to the margins, the organization is very non-inclusive. There is no opportunity for advancement. The organization does not promote from within, and if there is a rare promotion, its almost comical to watch the executives hurt their arms by patting themselves on the back. The organization does not do performance reviews, and raises are ad-hoc and infrequent. When interviewing you'll be seduced by the culture and mission, don't be deceived.

Pros

Helps the hospital afford things such as advanced monitoring equipment

Cons

Took away all part time employees benefits such as pto, sick time, and holiday pay. They tried to “smooth it over” by doing a calculation based on how much you worked the past two years that decides how much of a “bonus” you get every 6 months to make up for taking away our pto, sick time and holiday pay. It’s been 7 months and we have yet to receive that. Also this is only for 2 years and then after that you’re SOL.
