Pros

They provided both IT and Internet Marketing support that I had lacked on my own. They also provided leveraged pricing on supplies and pharmaceuticals needed to practice. Access was offered to other managing DVMs and their support staff. They showed appreciation of our efforts to utilize these tools both by financial rewards and by the "Chairman's Award", a single individual hospital's recognition for effort in a given year by Stanley Creighton, the Founder.

Cons

I was unable to figure out how to adapt to motivate and manage personnel with apparently different value systems than my own. At least not to my own satisfaction.

Helps the hospital afford things such as advanced monitoring equipment

Cons

Took away all part time employees benefits such as pto, sick time, and holiday pay. They tried to “smooth it over” by doing a calculation based on how much you worked the past two years that decides how much of a “bonus” you get every 6 months to make up for taking away our pto, sick time and holiday pay. It’s been 7 months and we have yet to receive that. Also this is only for 2 years and then after that you’re SOL.
