Pros
The people are great. Very talented developers and pm group.
Cons
Dogs. Some are fine to have around the office. But too many makes the office sound and smell like a kennel some days. Shockingly clique and immature and full of nepotism. Mixed messages: - "We aren't a 24/7 dev shop", but PM's are often asked why they didn't respond to a client email that someone on the chain that isn't involved or aware of the details in the project thought was urgent. Then comes the explaining your reasoning to at least 5 different people. - Bill, bill, bill. But provide great customer service. But why didn't you bill them for a call? They asked a question, you should bill them. Doesn't matter if they don't want to pay, it's a T&M project bill the time. Oh, but do what you think is best for your client and The Nerdery (just make sure you bill it). What money gets spent on. Conference rooms are notorious for being ill prepared technologically to present to clients. Video conferencing is too expensive, but taking over an entire hotel for a holiday party with 5 open bars from 6 pm to 2 am is a yearly necessity? Inexperienced company leadership. Inexperienced in that they aren't equipped to take the company past the turn and burn shop it's been. If they truly want to grow strategic partnerships and provide technological solutions, there need to be the right account managers selling and consistent project teams. Too many examples of resources starting a project and being pulled for a new engagement instead of insuring the first one gets completed properly.
