Pros

Nerdery is a consultancy which exposes you to a variety of projects

Cons

Nerdery did an average of 6 layoffs a year in the 3 years I was there. Their management doesn't know how to forecast, and the c-suite is full of incompetence

Nerdery Response

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We genuinely appreciate the opportunity to listen and improve. We want to acknowledge that workforce changes are incredibly difficult, especially for the team members who are departing. We don't make these decisions lightly. The past few years have brought unprecedented and rapid shifts in the global economy, the technology landscape, and the needs of our customers. To remain a leader and a stable partner for our customers, we must adapt. The workforce adjustments made over the past few years were a direct and necessary response to these evolving market dynamics. Our goal was to realign our teams and skillsets to meet the demands of today and tomorrow, ensuring the long-term success of the company. Our leadership team remains committed to continuing to build a transparent and supportive path forward for our current team. We are grateful for the contributions of all our former team members and wish you nothing but the best in your next chapter. Thank you, Nerdery Leadership Team

Pros

One of my favorite things about working at Nerdery was how my job was different every day, kept me in my toes and kept my skills fresh and current.

Cons

Some of the departments lacked clear direction.

Pros

- Actual client work is fun and we don't typically work with clients who are really aggressive with consultants. - Still have the opportunity to be remote

Cons

- Leadership is poor and consistently reactive. - There has been no real plan to improve the sales pipeline for nearly 3 years, but don't worry the man responsible for that failure was recently hired as a CEO elsewhere. - Layoffs happen, but there are examples where Nerdery leadership laid off employees who asked difficult questions or challenged leadership's ideas (e.g., retaliation). - We no longer have domain experts. Instead leadership is an account executive with an inflated title who might be pleasant, but doesn't actually have the expertise to improve the work. - Benefits were good when I started and now they are abysmal.
