Pros
- Outstanding sales organization, led by Xooglers and staffed by bright young talent that are making waves in the industry - Cool offices, food, friendly and mostly transparent culture - CEO is a genius (literally) and yet seemingly has no ego. Truly cares about people and it shows.
Cons
- Outside of the sales org (about half the company) things are kind of a mess. The CEO has failed to bring in a level of leadership talent that is commensurate with the company's scale and growth trajectory. The CMO has no marketing experience at scale. The product leadership came from ad operations. As a result different functions of the business operate in a very immature fashion. Reckless behavior is re-characterized as "being fast"...but really its just reckless. "Growth hacking" is thrown around like a badge of honor, when its really just another term for re-inventing the wheel. There is a poverty of ideas about what a mature marketing platform should be, because no one in the leadership has ever built one before. - This is a hard company to be a woman or person of color at. Very Bro-ey. Also very white. Go interview there you'll see what i mean. There's clearly a hiring bias at work, whether intentional or not. - Passive aggressive culture. The CEO is truly a kind person, however he also does not like confrontation. This leads to unsupportive behaviors when he wants someone or something to shift course. This passive aggressive style filters into the company culture. People all act nice but if they disagree with you they will do things to undermine your work and reputation.
