What a mess. Where do I begin? 1) While the 'idea' of a Virtual Kitchen may have legs -- the execution is terrible. Inedible food, that basically no one at the company would actually ever choose to order. Private review system for virtual kitchens that are only visible internally so as not to dissuade potential customers; but having seen those reviews I would literally never (ever, ever, ever) choose to order from a Nextbite brand. 2) Management is scattered and unfocused - creating and then eliminating concepts that do not align with the overall company business strategy driven by pure ego? Not sure how some of these ideas were developed. 3) Overall lack of transparency and poor human skills. Little to no acknowledgement of the poor reviews, no acknowledgement of financial woes. Every standup meeting was a session of patting-ourselves-on-the-back preceded by a hip-hop song meant to get everyone excited and feeling awesome! Layoffs were executed with a bunch of employees on Zoom getting the news at all the same time with their manager and a junior HR member on the line. Impersonal and awkward. 4) Product team is a disaster. Full of people who have little to no experience in their roles. This includes the head of product, who passively cheered everyone on with no leadership and no clear direction. Roadmap is impossible to follow. Building anything was incredibly slow.
