Pros

Had a good culture Good benefits Remote work

Cons

They will lay you off and repost your job opening a few months later. Laid off 20% of staff with no warning. Seemed to be a disproportionate amount of women as well. Loved to talk about diversity in hiring until it came time to lay people off.

We’re glad you enjoyed the Nextbite culture and benefits in your tenure. It’s been a tough year for many tech companies and also startups of our size to make the difficult decision to lay off some of the staff. In determining roles impacted by the layoff, we utilized objective criteria across teams and departments. Unfortunately, when we change our business strategy it can affect who we are able to retain. Diversity has and continues to be important to us on every team across the company and in how we attract and retain talent. We’ve heard feedback that people wanted the time to say goodbye. When laying off in a remote environment, it can get complicated. There’s no break room or employee lounge to say goodbye. We’re hoping you were able to reach out to your colleagues in other ways and continue to stay in touch. -Alex Canter
