Pros

Descent pay & excellent benefits. Weekends off. Some good students. Beautiful campus.

Cons

Upper management is terrible. They lie and make arbitrary rules. Many other co-workers are miserable due to the past and no contract. Faculty are bitter towards the president and board of trustees. Most lecturers hate working over the summer and are always looking for other jobs. Too many courses offered online which takes away from face to face classes and faculty' ability to teach 200 level courses.

Being IN the classroom with the students; most REALLY want to learn. The rest of it ...not so much. I signed up to TEACH not double as an 'admin.'

Cons

The rest of it ... incredibly bureaucratic, disorganized, with some exceptions support is virtually non existent, communication is sorely lacking, (the right & left hands DEFINITELY do not talk to each other), etc. No one (NO ONE!) expects to get rich as an adjunct but the difference between what they pay and what is expected is not just a gap but more like a canyon (many/most pay more). Spent way too much time doing administrative chores. In the dictionary, under the phrase "how to leverage your adjuncts" it should say "see OCC"
