Pros

The office location is nice, even with the parking problem. The paid-for insurance is great for single and/or young people. Sometimes there is free cereal and/or animal crackers. Some floors have working HVAC systems that don't leak. The building rarely loses water, so toilets usually work.

Cons

Many of the touted perks (PTO, 1 WFH day, etc) are nice, but well below the industry standard in the area. When taken into account things like no 401k match or no parking bonus (things many similar and smaller companies in Cleveland offer) the other stuff isn't so great. While you can theoretically talk to upper management, good luck getting them to make time for you to do so. The layoff was awful, but since then the existing staff has been leaving in droves (only about 1/3 of the remaining 1/2 remain), which no one comments on. Moving tech stacks is hard, but it's being done by a contracting firm so existing employees don't get to learn anything new, and no one who actually knows how and why the system works has any part of it. Management clearly plays favorites to employees hired since the layoff which creates lots of friction. Everyone in every department, is now on pins and needles since they feel that saying the wrong thing, or asking for a day off, could be a reason to be let go, or made so uncomfortable that they have to quit.

Pros

Salaries are higher than elsewhere in the city.

Cons

There are reasons the salaries are higher than elsewhere in the city -- this business has many detriments.
