Pros
This is a start-up company with some great people at their home office in Austin (not Scottsdale). Snacks (not food) are offered. Great concept for Digital Marketing strategy although limited to the industries it sells to. Loud music, awesome location (Scottsdale), and good place to start career if nobody else is hiring or you can't get hired anywhere else. If you are unfamiliar with vetting leads this may be a good place to be. You can be taught this skill but not here.
Cons
This is a telemarketing position through and through. Beware the people interviewing, they are salespeople as well, meaning they will say and tell you anything you want to hear to get you on-board and keep their quota. Told you will make 100 dials a day which is OK for outbound sales call center standards. However, once your hired you are expected to make 200+ dials through an automatic dialer. This means you have no control over who or when you call people. If you are unfamiliar with vetting your own leads you might fit in here. They also say you will be taking a consultative approach to selling when in fact hard selling tactics are employed. This is not an hourly + commision position as are the majority of call center sales positions here in Scottsdale. You are expected to show up 30 min to an hour before your start time and stay an hour to 2 hours after all times. Showing up 25 minutes before 8:00 am is considered late and you will be let go. If you have a family or outside obligations do not work here. Benefits are not offered until after your first 30 days. Majority of sales companies now offer this from day one to attract good talented people. Here it is understood that the attrition rate (drop out rate) is so high that it makes more sense to not offer it right away. Outbound Engine may have a reputation as one of the best places to work for the last few years running but it is for the Austin, TX office, NOT Scottsdale. Management is by far the most unprofessional and inexperienced I have ever worked for (Scottsdale office). They will belittle you and talk down to you every chance they get and flat out lie to you and upper management just so they can keep their jobs. Coaching is completely one-sided with a hint of do it this way or its the highway. If you do not fit their way of hard selling tactics management will do everything to push you out the door every chance they get. This means writing people up for not coming in an hour early to deliberately getting little to no attention and training from managers, Last, but not least, the reviews are Glassdoor are completely biased and given by people who work mainly in the Austin office. Employees are also Told to write good reviews on on here.
