Pros
I really, really, really, really tried to think of something good about this place. I realized that I had to constantly lie to myself while I was here just to survive. If that's you, take this as a sign.
Cons
Pay close attention to all the poor reviews people have posted here about Paper. Every word is true. You can also see a theme here. All the good 3-5 star reviews are short 1-2 liners and most of their pros are "it's a remote job." Don't let the 3.3 overall rating give you any hope of the good potential you think this company has. The "leadership" team here are immature and lack management experience. They do not know how to hold people accountable effectively because they also do not know what it means to take responsibility for their actions. They are unprofessional (dropping F bombs during internal and external meetings as if we're still in high school) and the frat boy energy is strong. The company does not know how to set effective goals. This results in employees working long hours, so no, there is no work/life balance. The HQ team speaks poorly of the tutors as if they are just a bunch of ungrateful children complaining about everything around them. There is no transparency, which keeps the doors closed on welcoming and creating a psychologically safe environment. I have worked at several different companies in different types of fields and Paper is by far the worst place I have ever worked in the last 20 years of my professional career.
