So happy to have found a home at PacificSource. It’s one of the few companies I’ve worked for where there’s not a lot of drama, complaining or politics. I’m sure this may vary by team, location, and manager, but I’m incredibly pleased that my team works so well together and everyone has a positive, collaborative attitude. Good work-life balance, solid benefits, and a feeling of respect and appreciation from leadership, which goes a long way toward creating a fulfilling work environment. I appreciate that this company strives to play a positive role in the communities it serves and actively strives to do the right thing. The CEO is very visible in the company. The company has been very accommodating and supportive during Covid. We were able to get the entire company quickly working from home in March 2020 and will continue WFH for the foreseeable future for most of the company.
Cons
My starting salary wasn’t as competitive as I’d hoped compared to other companies I was considering, but I feel there’s room for advancement. The company only offers seven paid holidays with one additional “personal” day. I feel like this is pretty skimpy compared to other northwest companies of similar size that offer 10 holidays. Some internal systems and processes are pretty antiquated and feel very early-2000’s. Some of this is probably driven by our HIPAA requirements and a reluctance to change because of possible short-term vulnerabilities. But newer systems could make us more efficient and better able to connect with members and prospects. They would be worth the long-term investment even if there are short-term challenges to transitioning.
