CS leadership writes reviews like middle school slam book entries - Customer Success ParentSquare Employee Review

Pros

If you don't work under CS leadership, you will probably have an OK time and gain some pretty solid work experience.

Cons

CS leadership is incompetent. To make sure raises are minimal or non-existent, they ensure that annual performance reviews are written akin to middle school slam book entries. Things are taken out of context, feedback is given on events that occurred several months past, and overall sound like someone has a personal issue they are taking out during the review process. There is no rationale or justification, and the order of events are skewed, presented as truth despite CS leadership's total lack of coaching or assisting in client situations. It would probably be better if the reviews were tied to outcomes expected of the role, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Even if it were, there are no clear KPIs for CS roles. Just a lot of Google docs and processes someone is "working on" but never finishes. It seems like CS managers and directors just want to keep their own jobs and try to push down their direct reports, causing a lot of frustration and negative emotional reactions.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. At ParentSquare, we take all reviews seriously and appreciate employees and former employees taking the time to voice their experiences. While we’re disappointed to hear about your concerns regarding the Customer Success (CS) leadership and performance review processes, we’d like to address the points raised. We're strong believers in feedback as a two-way and ongoing street, and we encourage employees to actively engage with their managers to share concerns or request clarification throughout the review cycle and (more importantly) throughout the year. We also believe that strong leadership and a supportive work environment are critical to employee success and satisfaction. While leadership roles come with challenges, it is our responsibility to ensure that managers support their teams with clear expectations, regular feedback, and professional development opportunities. Any concerns about management behavior should be brought to our attention in real time (through any of our internal channels)-- it allows us the opportunity to address concerns. Lastly, we strive to provide growth opportunities for all employees, and we’re proud of the many individuals who have thrived at ParentSquare. In fact, the CS team had significant internal moves and promotions throughout 2024. We’re committed to making ParentSquare a great place to work for everyone. If you’d like to provide additional details or suggestions, we encourage you to reach out to us directly.
