Let me tell you how your interview with PDI will go:
They will bring you to their fancy building and wow you with the establishment and technology. They will tell you how progressive and fun the company is. Then they will make you an offer slightly below the median for your position. If you question it they will remind you that they are a fortune 500 company and there is plenty of rrom for growth. And it goes down fast from there.
Dont get me wrong, you should take this job. Having a forbes ranked fortune 500 company on your resume is priceless. Suck it up for a few years then dump them.
Once you start working you will find that the progessiveness was a flat out lie. They will try and sell you on flexible schedules but will never allow you to actually have one.
They preach abput their core values, but those only apply if you're not management. The managers are some of the most corrupt individuals ive met.
And yes, majority of the 5 star reviews on here are written by HR. For every 1 negative review they have to have a certain amount of positive ones.
Then there's the actual job:
The CAD department is so understaffed that you'll never get drawings on time. The drafters there are severely over worked and under paid. Ive heard management complain that there weren't enough people in the office on saturday (the air condition isnt even on, on the weekends).
They cant seem to figure out that they need to pay these guys to get them in the door. They can however pay for 100k parties all the time and hire an office DJ....so there's that?
Your PTO time will be a joke. Pto and sick leave are wrapped into one but you still only get the standard 2 weeks. If you get sick then you wont have enough days to vacation. Also there are forced PTO days that will drain your leave time.
Getting a promotion or raise is a nightmare. Managers give constant promises but always find a way to delay and wiggle out of them. They only allow for a certain amout of titles per region. For example: all the level 2 CAD techs are doing level 3 work after a while, but if there are already enough level 3s you will not get the promotion.
401k "matching" is a joke. They dont tell you if they are going to match until the year is over. I prefer to use an IRA if my employer doesnt match so i constantly have to play the guessing game.
Also, youll never get a bonus. I havent talked to anyone in the CAD department that has received an end of year bonus. Thats probably how they pay the DJ
This place is a joke
Anyone woth having eventually leaves because working here is a nightmare.
