Pros

remote work, small company so everyone knows eachother. fun christmas party

Cons

well, this definitely is your classic series A start up. If you are looking to further your career in sales- stay far away from here. Very churn and burn atmosphere with low morale. if you don’t perform right off your ramp period you are let go immediately. would rather hire new people instead of investing in current talent. which makes for a revolving door of AES. expect absolutely 0 training, and little support from upper management besides them asking why you’re not hitting your outrageous quota each month. you are basically an SDR and an account executive in 1- unless you are a TRUE die hard sales person at heart who loves the hustle- this is an extremely tough role with very little job security and below average market pay.

ResQ Response

Dear former ResQer, We appreciate your feedback and for sharing your experience working at ResQ. You are 100% correct, we are a 'series A start-up', and with every good company operating at a similar stage, comes constant testing, iterating, and perfecting through rigorous trial and error. At ResQ, we certainly do not shy away from making hard decisions to keep improving to be 1% better every day. If you were at ResQ over the last year, we have made several changes on the sales team including: - Establishing fair and competitive compensation bands based on market comparison with companies that are of similar sizes and stages - Uncapped commission structure to make earning potential unlimited for our team members - Clearly defined territories, ICP, sales messaging, and quotas for AEs - Implementing a SDR program to support our AEs in sourcing new opportunities - Promoting several internal AEs to new roles - Continuous hands-on in-field coaching and training of new sales team members With these changes, we've seen our AEs hitting, and in many cases overachieving on their quotas. Q1 2023 was the best quarter we've had. Many sales team members are making over their on-target earnings in any given month and with continuous improvements, we believe we are on the right path to pass our goals for 2023. Working at a Series A startup is never easy, it comes with its challenges and opportunities, and we are very clear about what to expect at ResQ (https://www.notion.so/getresq/Joining-ResQ-e32fcd0e5d4b4278b7f99e45004c0b2e) in the interview process, including clearly outlining 'Why ResQ might not be the right fit' (https://www.notion.so/getresq/Why-ResQ-might-not-be-a-fit-b35fdf94aef9406a87d7ddb218eafd6e). Working at an early-stage startup involves lots of hustle and dedication to be successful. We believe it does take superhuman type efforts and is often one of the most difficult, yet rewarding, things one can do. Thanks for sharing your feedback!

Cons

Fully remote with HQ in Canada can be isolating at times.

Pros

Rapidly growing tech startup in the hospitality + service partner space. I've had a wonderful ~9 months here, and anticipate a lot of fun, fast-paced growth ahead. As with any startup, there is rapid change, development, team changes, and the needs of the business shift. If you look at ResQ through that logical lens, it's an incredible place to work where you'll get to experience a ton of career growth, fast, on-the-job learning, and the ability to make an impact.

Cons

If you're looking for a role/company where you can sit back and just collect a paycheck, look elsewhere! ResQ requires thoughtful endurance and a positive mindset. None of this is a 'negative', just sharing the reality of joining an early-stage startup.
