Poorly managed and extremely stressful - Developer Smart Data Solutions Employee Review

Pros

It benefits mostly from being a small company with almost no corporate bureaucracy to bog things down.

Cons

You are essentially thrown to the wolves and forced to make mistakes and take shortcuts in order to learn how to manage your workload. There is a total lack of any formal orientation process, and there is no context given about the huge number of clients you will manage. A vast majority of the code base is outdated and arcane, which often leads you down a rabbit hole of desperately trying to locate the person who is most knowledgeable about a given client/process. Then you find out that person no longer works there. tldr; its pretty stressful.

Pros

Supportive team environment where people genuinely want each other to succeed. Positive culture with approachable leadership and open communication. Good work-life balance with flexibility when needed. Opportunities for professional growth and skill development.

Cons

Work can be fast-paced at times, requiring strong prioritization. Some processes are still evolving as the company grows

Pros

I really enjoy working with my immediate team. We’re supportive, collaborative, and have built a genuinely positive working environment. My coworkers are one of the best parts of the job, and there’s a strong sense of trust and camaraderie among us. Day-to-day work feels manageable and even enjoyable because of the people I work with.

Cons

Outside of my team, the company can feel disconnected. Communication across departments isn’t always clear, and it sometimes feels like different parts of the organization are operating in silos. Additionally, the location I work out of can feel overlooked compared to others, which contributes to that sense of disconnection and lack of visibility.
