If you listen to the "old timers", you may actually learn how to run a proper home building company

Cons

Everything is in quick deterioration, from employee relations to the quality of the products. Since the company brought in some Japanese investors they've been trying to eliminate costs way too aggressively - cheapening out on people and quality vendors will inevitably end up costing more.

Home Builder has strong mission, vision, and values. Privately held. Celebrating 60th anniversary in 2026. Great people!! Hard-working, respectful, and accountable. HQ in Reston, VA. They build in DMV, Richmond, Charlottesville, All over NC, SC, Atlanta, Orlando and Tampa, so there are lots of work sites and growth opportunities: In-field positions (sales, construction management) are growing and many promotions come from within. Intern opportunities are excellent! Paid. Substantive work. Has resulted in full time employment. Company believes in hiring early in career to train team members in the "Stanley Martin way." Supports workers with robust learning and development - for individuals and teams. Great people!! Strong benefits package, including 401K matching funds (up to specific $ amount) and pet insurance.

Cons

Salaries can be well below average and increases are a small % of original base. Negotiate. Negotiate. Negotiate.
