Pros

Stoel Rives is definitely not a sweatshop and a dedicated attorney can actually make partner unlike at other big firms. Attorneys are encouraged from the beginning to begin business devolpment and given a budget to do so (no approval needed).

Cons

Salary a bit lower than the biggest firms, but Seattle market is different than New York, Washington DC or CA.

Pros

Relatively good pay Strong companywide culture

Cons

Note: Cons apply to the editorial team, rather than the entire company. Lackluster onboarding Poor training with insufficient mentoring Inconsistent application of editorial standards and methods that are more concerned with not offending attorneys than with actually making documents better Ignorance of/disregard for basic rules of grammar Forced employees across the country to work on Pacific Time Gaslighting Belittling of previous experience, a general attitude of condescension Criticism of employees in front of other employees Lack of preparedness for meetings and instructional sessions
