Pros

The company sells state of the art products and has amazing people supporting them. The people are very genuine and people are very helpful. Benefits are generally good. You don't have to pay for long term or short term disability which is very unusual.

Cons

My only issue with this company is the lack of self esteem, in that a lot of people complain about the company for things that are really not so bad. I came to the company knowing this and so far I haven't found much merit in the complaints even though it's true that some of the processes are archaic. Although the benefits are good, there is no 401k match and there ought to be. Also the vacation is lacking - 10 days plus the requirement to take a bunch of holidays that some people would rather be working on (such as MLK day, 24th Dec and day after Thanksgiving). There are also limited sick days. I'd rather see them added to vacation and be given discretionary sick days up to, say, a week or two weeks, after which short term disability would kick in.

Pros

I have enjoyed working in the Supermicro IT & DataCenter infrastructure group. It's an exciting opportunity to be directly involved in some of the most impactful trends in the industry, including AI infrastructure, liquid cooling, high-density computing, and next-generation data center design. As an IT Director focused on Applications and data center infrastructure, I have been able to work with talented, dedicated engineers and business leaders to meet complex customer requirements. The company moves quickly, embraces innovation, and provides opportunities to make meaningful contributions rather than getting lost in layers of bureaucracy.

Cons

The pace can be demanding, and priorities sometimes shift as the business continues to grow rapidly. There are times when processes, tools, and organizational structures are still catching up to the company's expansion. Success often requires flexibility, a willingness to take ownership, and the ability to navigate ambiguity. Employees who prefer highly structured environments and clearly defined boundaries may find the pace challenging.
