Working From Home and Telecommuting IS nice if it's NOT making you miserable.
Cons
Every Other Possible Aspect. The 'Tools' didn't work. You have exactly 2 minutes to log into EVERY system you have for working (takes 5 minutes of FAST typing, no cut and paste!) which means 'Working' Off-book (illegal in EVERY state). And if your service goes out, YOU are held accountable despite conditions beyond your control (Look into how those affected by hurricanes were treated). We were 'hired' to be Tier 2, but basically you are Tier 1. Of 31 people who began my training class, 3 finished 'nesting'. Heck of a way to run a rail road. There was NO opportunity for advancement. Our trainer quit during the 4th week. The work itself is so mind-numbing, that MOST of my co-workers did nothing else : off work, they'd withdraw from friends and family and stay locked away from everyone to try to cope with being an Information Technology/Customer Service Burger Flipper. The idea of being Work From Home is to eliminate cost for The Company, but workers do not see ANY real benefit from this; It's NOT enough pay to cover Internet, 1000 dollars worth of equipment (better have 3-4 monitors, and video cards to handle ALL of them) and fast broadband (depending on market that IS expensive), not to mention your rent or mortgage. So if the wages are so low, where is the 30 Million from X Contract or Y contract really going? The company posts AMAZING profit margins, right? It's ALL going to CEO and C-Level executive pay.
