Pros

Being able to work at home is pretty nice, along with paid time off (assuming you can actually use it), and medical coverage. That's where the benefits end.

Cons

Originally this job was a nice job, however over the years it's become more like a prison then a job. You have no real choice over which shifts you are assigned to, only the possible chance to have something that might work for you. Corporate treats their work at home employees like they're just numbers, because we aren't actually face to face with them. Policies change all the time, without any real notice to anyone. Supervisors themselves don't even really have an idea of what's going on. The communication in the company is next to none. The people I work with are great, however I've never seen so many unhappy people at a job before in my life. You are given reviews constantly, which normally should be ok. However the reviews are in constant focus of how you can improve, what you are doing wrong. This is so that you can get back onto the phones and be as productive as possible with absolutely no chance of ever having a raise. Promotions are highly biased and focused mainly on social networking rather then actual technical skill. Even though I'm at home I feel as if I'm constantly being watched. Even our internet traffic is monitored (on our own personal computers we're forced to provide) to ensure that we are only working during our hours. Every single second we spend during our shift is recorded into the metrics chart, which is then shown to you during your reviews. You aren't judged on technical skill or the ability to provide quality customer service. You are judged on how your numbers look, and which numbers need to drop by two or else you are risking your job. At this point, I can't even afford to pay my student loans for the degree I was required to have for this job.
