Pros

Decent pay rate. Food is good. Benefits are good.

Cons

Taco Mac is hyper-reactive to any complaint or issue. New blanket policies to remedy one bad moment at one location is the norm. You will hear about anything negative numerous times and have to have reasons and remedies immediately for guest complaints that are based on policies and procedures that managers are made to follow. These policies and procedures are the managers fault when there is a complaint about it. There is no recognition or positive feedback from senior management. Work hours are way above what they should be. Work weeks less than 65 hours are rare. Work hours have been over 70-80 hours a week for years. Upper management keeps talking about improving "quality of life" for managers, but talk is all that has happened in years. Every day off you will be expected to field numerous phone calls about anything and everything. Opportunity to move up from the store level is almost nonexistent. Support from corporate is laughable. Regional managers are spread thin. Managers are not allowed to be sick. You get 1 sick day per year, don't think about taking it. You are expected to be at work sick. Vacation time that you earn is hard to take. It has to be approved months in advance and can be changed due to anything that might make business increase. There is no good time to take off for vacation, they make you feel as if you are doing wrong for asking for your time off. Employee morale is lower than ever. It is hard to keep hourly staff when they do not like their jobs. Lots of rules and policies that cause them to get fired or frustrated enough to quit. Since Taco Mac was sold, upper management have been stressed about themselves loosing jobs. Upper management focuses on sales only now, employee morale and quality of life matter even less now. Most managers do not stay here very long. It starts with low pay and long hours. Moving up only happens because managers keep leaving the company.
