Pros

The goal that is held while working at a Texas Roadhouse, in my experience, seems to be a positive one. The culture they’re trying to develop is literally written on the walls in some cases. To create an upbeat environment where “family” and “upselling” meet. I find this to be an acceptable dynamic given the nature of the job and I found that it was easy to socialize and get to know coworkers.

Cons

I will be transparent in stating that sexual misconduct is rampant within the many roadhouses I had the pleasure (scratch that, let’s call it displeasure), of working at/for. I found that alcoholism, drug abuse and adultery were common themes with little to no attention given to actions of degeneracy— so long as you showed up for your shifts. My main concern is the glaring fact that many male managers were witnessed to harass underage female coworkers.

Pros

For the most part scheduling was pretty flexible. As long as you asked off in advance you normally were granted the request. Being in a tourist heavy town as well as a college town meant the restaurant stayed pretty steadily busy throughout the year.

Cons

My only complaint would be not being allowed to ask off any holidays. That being said, management was always as accommodating as possible in deciding who worked certain holidays.
