Pros

- Great training opportunities - High pay - Work from home - Great benefits in addition to the standard 401(k), medical, etc - Positive and uplifting culture, while emphasizing personal and professional growth

Cons

Not a con for me, but if somebody craves in-person communication, this is not the place. The company is 100% digital. While there is great emphasis on zoom communication with cameras on, we only meet in the real world once a year, at the annual firm retreat.

Pros

I don't say this lightly. Hall CPA is a place where you can grow at whatever pace you want and your ideas will be heard. It's very sexy from the outside, which is why I initially joined – no time sheets, totally remote, fast-growing, young culture, a firm that actually understands tech – it's all there. The big difference for me is what I experienced when %#$! really hit the fan. I was promoted to manager early on and was making more money than I ever had and was managing a team (what an honor!) – problem is that I was totally burning out and biting off more than I could chew. Also – I learned that I actually don't like managing people. At most firms – I would have voiced this and been met with poor performance reviews and probably let go (due to the up-or-out mentality of the industry). At Hall CPA, however, I was given the latitude to completely pivot my role and I had numerous people from my manager all the way through the CEO pause what they were doing to restructure around me and coach me through it. They really wanted me to succeed! Now I am on the other end of that, feeling inspired and hopeful, and I have been able to align my life with work so that I can slowly start taking on more responsibilities again in a direction that is better suited toward my needs and career goals.

Cons

Very few cons - the only thing that is challenging is the pace at which changes are adopted. The job is not for you if you are not comfortable with constant self-evaluation and improvement (but frankly I think most people will see that as a pro and not a con).
