Pros

Helping women who are self-conscious to feel beautiful. Can have tattoos and piercings visible during work. Employee discount.

Cons

The work-load is nowhere near appropriate for the pay. You'll find yourself thinking "wow. I'm getting $9 an hour for this." There are way too many expectations you're held to. Corporate will tell you "we're expanding so you all could be managers here real soon!" and get you all excited to work for them, and then they verbally abuse you and tell you you're not good enough. There's also a lot of competition between the employees (managers included) regarding who is prettier, who is smarter, who can get the most credit card sign ups. And if you don't get a lot of credit card sign-ups you get written up for it. Verbally abusive, emotionally exhausting, physically draining work environment. You're supposed to be all happy to greet customers happily when you just got yelled at in front of them? EXTREMELY unprofessional. Then it's awkward between you and the customers, and why would you want a customer to feel like you might mess up with them? It's just overall a terrible place to work for. The company really needs to do more fixing of the employee-treatment and less of the expansion and advertisement. People say, "that's just how retail is" but it's not, it's nowhere near as bad as working at this company. You will be lucky to get 8 hours a week, and you'd better suck at doing stock because if you're good that's all you'll ever do.

Pros

Great employee discount, loyal customers.

Cons

Too focused on profit margin to care about employees and customers. Clothing has gone out of style and is constantly trying to keep up with competitors like Maurices and Aerie. Several stores have closed in my area due to low sales.
