Pros
Mostly nice people to work with...more so the part time team members ...management downright rude most of the time. Love seeing all the new toys that come out and to help parents and kids find the toys they are looking for.
Cons
10% discount on toys but that does not include video game systems, ipods, tablets, diapers, formula, you know anything that you would want to use the discount on. 20% on their overpriced snacks and drinks, even with the discount the snacks and drinks are cheaper out of the vending machine. Speaking of the vending machines: not everyone drinks soda try putting some water in there and not in a can either. Pay is disgustingly low for the amount of work you are expected to do. They just "restructured" the company meaning they laid off about 2000 people some full time employees were bumped down to part time and stripped of their pay and benefits. The ones that weren't are now expected to do the jobs of 2 or 3 people in the same amount of time for the same amount of pay. They are continually cutting hours in the store (less team members) but still expect you to get all of your tasks done and provide A+ customer service. Policies oh yeah they are out the window! They are just guides not to be followed to the letter. Ok so the point of having policies that we are not going to follow is what? Benefits are a joke, by the time you pay your premiums and your deductible it comes out to more than half of your yearly salary! Upper management lacks compassion, empathy and the ability to talk to team members like they are human beings. No one likes to be treated like they can never do any thing right. Psych 101 always counteract a negative with a positive. Life and work balance is non existent! 99% of the time the schedule isn't done until the day before (policy states 2 weeks out, oh there is that policy word again) but yet you have to give 2-3 weeks notice to request a day off. If you specifically ask to be off after a certain time you are guaranteed you will be working far beyond that. Many times you will work until 9:00 or 10:00pm and have to be back in at 5am or 6am the next morning. I do believe there is a law against that, but they are above the law.
