Pros

some nice employees, kind of a fun job at first (until the standing 8 hours on your feet without a break starts getting to you), maybe two or three times a day there's a cute little kid or baby that will make you smile and feel less like dying from the terrible job

Cons

RUDE managers! your value as an employee (and you will feel like sometimes it is your value as a human being) is based on whether or not you are good at scamming customers into getting a toys r us credit card, or convincing them to get a rewards card, or batteries, or etc. almost everyone will say no. but this means, to the managers, you are worthless. they yell at you, sometimes in front of customers. i had an experience once where the manager themselves two minutes before had told me to do something, and then, while with the customer, yelled at me for that something being the wrong thing to do. the stores are huge, and sometimes you, as in YOU, a single person, even if you are a cashier, will be required to straighten out entire sides of it. and no, simple straightening isn't good enough. you will be on your knees making sure every single item on every single shelf are pulled to the very front, so there is no visible shelf left, or you get yelled at. did a kid just go in there and mess it up? oh well! YOUR FAULT. go fix it! stop making excuses! there is also the matter of them treating their seasonal employees like slaves. they will have regular employees follow you around and interrupt you helping a customer to take it into their "more capable hands" and leaving you looking like an idiot. if you're caught conversing with another employee, you (or them, if they are also seasonal) will immediately be put on the floor and ordered to straighten parts of the store. there is absolutely no fun allowed. the managers are rude. on black friday, the group of managers were yelling at seasonals while they and regular employees did absolutely nothing to help anyone, simply talking bad to each other about the seasonals, as if the seasonals weren't the ones doing all the work. no matter how long you work, you only get one fifteen minute break, and another thirty minute break. 15 hour long shift? sucks! fifteen and thirty, ONCE EACH. also, only a 10% off discount for employees! talk about a rip off! toys r us prices are higher than any other store. single lollipops are 4 dollars, etc. just an awful, awful place.

Pros

Best job ever, I was able to play with toys all the time. I usually stayed late to open boxes, and play, then I put them back in boxes like nothing happened and then go home, my wife always thought I was cheating because I was late, sometimes 3AM, but I just can't stop playing with toys, it was awesome.

Cons

My wife didn't like my job. She hated when I was late.
