Pros

They had very dedicated support people. People who knew there was no help coming and no support or recognition would be given to them. They worked hard because they wanted to help. Because planning is so bad, you frequently get the chance to travel. Easter was particularly good -spent that weekend travelling on 40 minute notice.

Cons

Leaving those people unprotected to the whim of the Senior HR who only was concerned that others might have better equipment than them. The lack of understanding of what the support people do to keep the systems running.
