Pros
The benefits are great! The company promotes from within and gives opportunities for advancement.
Cons
Because the organization promotes from within you have people in management/leadership roles with no experience or knowledge of how to lead a team to a successful completion of a project or day to day activities. If you're in an exempt position, be willing to work 10-12 hour days, otherwise other managers and directors do not think you are working hard enough. The favoritism in this place is incredible! Directors find people to "mentor" and ignore any bad qualities that individual might have or any red flags in terms of maturity and competence. This is how the organization has mostly directors, managers, and leads without degrees or a formal education. Everyone is micromanage and point fingers when something does not go to plan (whenever their is plan). There is little accoutability by senior leadership, it's always someone else's fault. There is absolutely no trust and very few team players. The IT department treats business staff with disrespect and there is very little planning or structure in the department. Policies, procedures, and systems are outdated.
