Good benefits; not so great pay, especially at the beginning of your career. - Financial Advisor Vanguard Employee Review

Pros

Vanguard is a very stable company that is widely respected and admired within the industry and the general populace. As a Vanguard employee, you never need to be reluctant to recommend its products and services to anyone -- even your grandmother.

Cons

Upward mobility is severely constrained by the rigid behavioral based interviewing used at every promotional opportunity. Even though you've worked there a long time and performed well in each position you've had, the interview process treats you as if you just walked in off the street. Vanguard loves well educated and experienced employees but doesn't exploit that knowledge once you're hired -- particularly if you accept a position in the lower client-facing roles.
