Pros

I work with knowledeable, excellent co-workers. The culture is great and I have really good work-life balance. We work 37.5 hours per week and have 23 PTO days/year as an Application Engineer III. We also get one day of Volunteer Time Off per year. Vanguard is always improving, re-assessing pay (in a positive way) and has added many new benefits while I've worked here (Flex Fund which is an additional $1,500/year, fully max out HSA if you make a certain amount of contributions, extra PTO day(s) some years, etc.) This is on top of the 14% 401k contribution that they make each year along with many other benefits we already have.

Cons

The only con for me if that we're required to be in-office Tuesday-Thursday unless you have a doctor's appointment, sickness, etc. There is still some flexible for those things, but it needs to be for a valid reason. (I have a very long commute.)

Pros

Awesome coworkers for young professionals. Paid licensing for a few months.

Cons

Micromanagement is out of control. Incompetent team leaders who are obsessed with power and metrics. Back to back calls, limited support, and nearly impossible effective communication between departments. Zero time to cultivate culture because you are taking calls every second of the day except for 30min/1hr lunch and two 15 minute breaks. You’re locked into your role for over a year (apprenticeship for around 60 days, then a year after promotion to associate) and your team leaders will not approve internal applications unless you are “eligible”.
