Pros

- It was very fulfilling to teach kids how to code and get to see their excitement and progress! - Management and parents were VERY flexible with scheduling, especially if you give notice. A coworker would often sub in, or the parents can schedule a make-up class. - No set curriculum for tutoring sessions, so there's a lot of free reign to make whatever the student wants! Allows for a lot of creativity, and if you don't know how to do something specific, they also have paid access to Codecademy & took suggestions for other platforms. - Locally owned branch, so employee feedback/suggestions went straight to the manager & owner and they took action on a lot of them! - Reasonable pay based on experience. They also paid time and a half if you sub in for a coworker or if you run an offsite class.

Cons

- Not a ton of hours per person if that's what you're seeking. Hours are based on the number of clients and the schedule availability of the coaches, and ofc it's all after school only. New coaches would start with 1-3 students for the first couple months, and the coach with the most students probably worked 9-10 hours a week. However, they do try to tailor to your schedule and will try to give you more clients if you request it. I worked there for just under a year and at maximum I had about 8-10 hours a week (because of the schedule flexibility, there are lots of opportunities to sub in for coworkers)

Pros

Incredibly supportive management, casual working environment, supportive coworkers, and a dynamically shifting list of tasks that always keeps the job interesting.

Cons

The after-school nature of the coaching sessions means that, for part-timers, hours can be limited during slower seasons, and may be soft-capped to 5 hours a day maximum, depending on the season.
