      Great talent, management not so much

      Pros

      The hours are flexible and the atmosphere is laid-back. You meet some genuine people, and some I still consider friends.

      Cons

      Favoritism is out of control especially at the corporate level. Monetary compensation is based on who you know, not on the quality of your work. There is no formal mentorship and there is a huge lack of communication amongst employees and their supervisors. There is no "team" environment nor team building. Lack of motivation/incentives from managers. Benefits are over-priced.

      A good company to work for if you can stand the life of being a government contractor

      Good benefits Good pay depending on the contract you are assigned to Technical support at corporate site is top notch Lots of intelligent personnel to lean on

      Cons

      As with any company that relies on government contracts, once the contract ends and/or gets awarded to the next company, you have to accept the new company's offer or move on. The reason some people complain about inconsistent pay is that everyone's pay is based on the contract you are assigned to.

      -exposure to enterprise level systems -interaction with Federal government -great initial team spirit

      Cons

      -glass ceiling in promotions and salary -no defined career path at local site -tons of internal and governmental politics -limited training budget -high management turnover. One manager stayed only 2 weeks; average term is 18 months.
