Pros

What keeps me at Empower is the combination of the mission, the people, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact. It is rare to find a company where you can see a direct connection between your work and improved access to healthcare for patients across the country. Empower is a place where employees are trusted with real responsibility and encouraged to contribute beyond the boundaries of their role. Whether it is improving processes, solving operational challenges, supporting providers and patients, or helping teams work more efficiently, there is a genuine opportunity to make a difference. If you enjoy building, improving, and creating solutions, there are many opportunities to do that here. The company is growing quickly, and with that growth comes the chance to help shape processes, workflows, and systems that will support the future of the organization. Rather than simply maintaining the status quo, employees often have the opportunity to be part of building something better. Another strength is the people. I have worked with many individuals who are knowledgeable, collaborative, and committed to helping one another succeed. Even during periods of rapid growth and change, teams remain focused on supporting each other and delivering for patients.

Cons

Like many fast-growing organizations, Empower is continually evolving. Processes, systems, and organizational structures are often refined to support future growth, which can sometimes require employees to adapt quickly to change. The pace can be demanding, and there are times when operational priorities must be balanced with long-term process improvements. However, these challenges are largely a reflection of the company's growth and commitment to continuous improvement.

Way too many meetings. Wanting to implement so many micro managing systems that are really not applicable to our team

We appreciate the honest feedback and the perspective you shared. It’s good to hear that WFH and manager support are working well, and your comments on meeting load, micromanagement, and the need to involve mid-level leaders earlier in department changes are specific and important
