Little to no training involved when I came on board. Inside sales is required to meet the same expectations as the outside team but treated more like customer service rep, required to deal with customer issues and logistics. In the years I was employeed I heard a lot of about the "culture" of Emser but was never able to experience it. Our yearly segment meetings were always canceled. While I believe it exsists on the west coast, the East coast is lacking the structure and "culture" they always talked about. Another con, the hours. Being required to work 630-5 every day, and every other Saturday is EXHAUSTING. The idea of rotating hours was always shut down and I was treated like an outcast if I needed to leave early for something such as a doctors appointment. I was also scolded for missing a day after being involved in a serious car accident. It felt as though the employees are treated like children, with no real freedom, almost like being back in grade school. There's the "two year burnout" for a reason. Last but not least, I was looking for advancement opportunities and after a few conversations, I was told I could shadow an outside rep, then we would follow up with an interview. I was never given the courtesy. Most of upper management are "yes men" meaning they won't say no because they are conflict avoiders. They avoided me right out the door. I would not recommend this position to anyone that values their work/life balance or being treated like an adult.
