Good place to work

Pros

flexible, bonus scheme, healthcare plan, life insurance. Career development. Global company. Career opportunities. Great place to develop your career.

Cons

A lot of money is spent on hiring senior managers and VP's with a result of too many layers of management, mangement heavy, not enough middle and entry staff to share workloads, so individual workloads below manager levels are very high. Roles are a bit mixed up where you sometimes have lower level staff with a less set of skills on more money than a person with a more complex job and higher set of skills and experience. Pay is somewhat below market rates for some roles but that is not consistent throughout the company.

Entrust Rests on it's former glory

Pros

Easy to glide through, stay for 6 to 8 months if you want to learn about public key infrastructure but no longer.

Cons

Entrust was once the leader in public key infrastructure. They are still very good but they haven't done any true innovation in 15 years. They have had numerous salary freezes in the past as well. There are still two or three amazing engineers (and one god like one) but they have pretty much lost all their other talent. All the PKI infrastructure is already developed you will just be adding interfaces, web front ends or creating phone apps. Nothing exciting or new.

Pros

Great management. Lots of opportunities around security policy, and governance. Good maturity around Security Risk Management practices.

Cons

Some of the information security practices seem reactive rather than being pro-active.
