none. Absolutely zero. I had no support, was not paid adequately or on time, and treated like an absolute child.

Cons

Being immediately laid off for not soliciting enough people for money Not being paid at all Being promised an orientation and having them not show up, then being blamed for it. Sleazy management ropes in college students with stuff like "Make a difference and get paid!!!" Everyone you talk to automatically hates you.

Pros

Some really great young activists start here trying to make a difference in the world. Most of them get burnt out and jaded.

Cons

It's been a few years since I worked here, but I can't imagine much has changed. They were so bitter about California forcing them to pay their employees overtime that I'm betting they're still fighting to pay everyone the $25k total a year I was making and working them the minimum 90 hours a week I was working. This organization is great about recruiting young people out of college that really want to make a difference and then working them to the bone for no money. If you care about the environment or any of the issues the PIRG's are fighting for, PLEASE go to a different organization to do it. There is just nothing good to say about this one.
