      Proud of the work supporting environmental issues, and the people are very nice, income is competitive against other nonprofits.

      Cons

      Low confidence in leadership direction, upper leadership is not diverse, people don't feel like they can safely challenge or try new things

      Poor management, current trend is to add excessive numbers of senior administators, which clouds career path for new hires coming in at lower levels, adversely affects employee morale, and reduces organizational impact

      Pros

      Wonderful, smart, hardworking colleagues. Everyone is on their A game here but I also have run into very few big egos. The work is also engaging and varied - EDF seems to touch almost everything in the climate world. The pay and benefits are also very good for a nonprofit.

      Cons

      Upper leadership seems completely out of touch and uninterested/uninformed about the work actually happening on the ground. Dangling layoffs over everyone’s heads for five months (!) and then having no substantial or clear communication on the new org structure after the “reduction in force” felt beyond insulting. Morale is very low.
