Pros

Good travel benefits Good training The crews were fun to work with ..... Unless they have left by now. Pay is ok for a regional.

Cons

This company went from four bases to only two bases in one year. They are always messing up your pay so you need to audit every paycheck. The union let us down with a worthless contract that was worse than the previous one. Overall morale is tremendously low and you will be on reserve for the next ten years since no one is coming to Envoy. They do not offer any significant signing bonus.....but they do offer a flow to American (which will take you fifteen to twenty years probably). The equipment is old and they are giving away flying to other carriers to allow for Envoy to keep shrinking with no end in sight to the bad news. They do not follow the contract when it comes to reserve and you can file a grievance and wait a few years for your results.

Pros

Flight benefits are the same as mainline American Airlines

Cons

The company basically expects you to give your life to them -- no work/life balance. For your first six months you will most likely have a four hour work day, but, almost always, you will be extended--mandatory overtime without the overtime pay. Speaking of pay, it is extremely low. 9.47 starting out, and maxing out at 15.76 an hour after twelve years with the company. Meanwhile mainline starts out at 14.50 an hour, and maxes out at $35. Miami Envoy Management is always looking for ways to pin the blame on employees, and always to absolve themselves of responsibility. Both management and entry level employees have a severely high rate of turnover because of the very low pay. Most move to other airlines or mainline when they realize nobody can survive on Envoy's low low pay. Equipment like tugs, bag carts, trucks, catering vehicles, and vans are all in severely poor condition and are highly dangerous. The company claims that new equipment is too expensive.
