Pros

Epic has exceptional opportunities for medium-high performers to take on new challenges and grow professionally. This is especially important for people who plan to leave--demonstrate 2-3 year "phases" of you time at Epic and give them different roles on your resume, because your job title and description will not change. Still rating 4 stars because you can always start working on new skills or improving the ones you already excel at.

Cons

True "growth" at the company--promotions--are limited by your loyalty. Epic selects managers based on their perceived commitment to the company after filtering on performance, not by selecting managers who will be most effective at leading a team. This works OK because they expect staff to be independent after ~2 years while the manager acts primarily as a feedback funnel. Senior management is completely out of touch with the cast majority of staff. Decisions are communicated as if Judy is divinely inspired and can do no wrong.
