Not what it's cracked up to be

Pros

Good reputation in the industry with innovative solutions suited for enterprises with a lot of money to invest. Talent is top notch. Great work-life balance and flexibility.

Cons

Complete dysfunction is how I would describe Epsilon. The internal politics make this company their own worst enemy. Too many "leaders" with their own conflicting agendas and vision of what the company is and wants to be. Competing comp plans across different groups make it difficult to collaborate. Continual layoffs impact the teams yet there is no accountability at the top. When your job is to bring in new business and you have to turn it away due to lack of resources, that's a real problem. Internal processes, especially for Sales, is a complete disaster. No authority to make a decision and close a deal without needing 15 people involved. This is a company that can tell a good story...they just can't deliver efficiently. It's a lot of smoke and mirrors. Also, the Sales comp plan is a joke. It's structured so that you don't get paid for months (that's if you survive long enough to collect it). It's just not a sales-driven organization. The culture is very much the good old boys at play, all taking care of one another. There are only a few females who have high-level positions. That should be a red flag.

Pros

Matching 401k, stock options, paid maternity/paternity leave are some highlights of working here. At one time this was a thriving company bringing in major accounts for well known clients. Epsilon does have lots of opportunities for volunteer and charitable work in our communities which is great!

Cons

Many jobs are being offshored to the new Bangalore office that Epsilon built for 4,000 employees there. That means that the US workers are slowly and quietly being layed off. 2017 will bring "open vacation days" for all employees which means there will be no vacation pay on the books, making it even less costly for the company to release seasoned workers. Very stressful.
