Pros

You get to work with some incredible people who you can learn a lot from.

Cons

There are many promises of growth without follow through. The compensation and benefits are not up to par with the rest of the industry. The culture that they preach is unfortunately not the culture that actually exists within the corporate space. Overall you are expected to work over time and go above and beyond, but there is no recognition or growth even when you prove yourself.

Pros

The company puts a lot into marketing and there is money to be made of you're at the right club.

Cons

A cult like atmosphere. The higher ups seemed like nice people at first, but once you get to know them they're all dead behind the eyes. That and they have a higher turnover than McDonalds. Tons of churn and burn! Proceed with caution.

Pros

Internal education, free membership and continuing ed opportunities

Cons

Blow smoke up potential employees to get them to sign up with promise to gain over 100k as a trainer. For a company makes billions a year and charges their memebers up the wazoo for memberships and services that wants you to be there over full time to “build your business” (really build theirs) they only pay you for 15 hours at minimum wage. You have to be a sales person to succeed. They praise the sellers and some of these sellers are not good trainers. On top of having to put in free hours while working the floor to be able to engage in members they make you wear a different color shirt when the members avoid talking to trainers like the plague. Its crazy to work two weeks and make 300$ (Less if you have insurance for yourself and or the family relying on your income as a source of support or health benefits) and because of the random meeting times and rotating yet unpredictable floor shifts you cant really rely on a second job unless youre doing Uber or lyft or selling blood (not a lie some trainers told me they've literally had to do this ) Chik fil A pays its employees more hourly as do many lower end jobs. Because of the pay situation there or lack thereof there is a rotating door of trainer turnovers. Many trainers with YEARS of experience or relevent degrees seek employement with Equinox do so because of the potential as once you do have clients your commission is nice but even their best trainers burned through savings waiting to reach full time and or their career goals. I believe they hire fresh trainers and focus on educating them so they dont know any better and what they deserve
