Pros

The work life balance at Equitable is great. Hybrid working culture with work from home and going to office is a real treat. Plus I'll get to work from outside of US for a few weeks as well.

Cons

Compensation is a negative. Equitable although has great benefits but the bas compensation is not up to the industry standards.

Pros

Flexibility to take time off whenever you need Good if you enjoy hard sales and harrassing people Commission

Cons

There are a ton of personal business expenses, and they expect you to pay out of pocket for everything while making less than minimum wage. After getting licensed and finally working, I kept waiting for another shoe to drop because there were SO many things they conveniently don't tell you until you're in it. You advertise yourself as a "financial advisor" but you're really just a door to door salesman. If you are seriously considering financial advising please do it at a better company and do not waste your time here. Every advising job you start off with no money and build up with your client base but Equitable's starting compensation is ridiculous and your manager will be telling you how poor you're going to be every day. The teachers will constantly bail on you because they don't understand what you do, and the schools can be hard to get into. They say there's no cold calling but you have to crank out 30-50 calls weekly. They're constantly hiring people because nobody stays.
