Not a good experience

Pros

I enjoyed my time when I realized I was one of the "favorites"

Cons

HEAVY favoritism by upper management. They promote and move people around who they like on a personal level and don't actually value anyone's work skill set. I was denied even interviewing for a position while I saw other people less qualified than myself move up/around. This also happened to other colleagues. The turnover rate is very high (at least in NYC). Certain managers are way too close to their employees which becomes obvious and makes the work environment uncomfortable when you are not one of those favorites.

Pros

Can't think of any to post.

Cons

There is too much favoritism among employees. New employees, no matter how hard they work, are not accepted into the "circle". Flex time is only offered to certain people and they do not care about you personally. You can work every day, be early, no time for breaks for months, but take off for a doctor's appointment and the world is ending.

Hello, and thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. We are sorry to hear of your frustrations, and for any misunderstandings that may have occurred as they relate to our time off policies. In general, any flexibility with scheduling tends to be something that employees work their way up to with tenure, but we do make an effort to be accommodating of emergencies and personal appointments as they arise. We’re very sorry to hear that you did not feel this was the case. Please know that your concerns have been heard and discussed, and we welcome you to contact our HR team if you have any more specifics you would like to share. We wish you the best.

Pros

The company is well established with a great deal of resources for all associates. From a IR/IT and legal prospective, they far surpass other residential management companies.

Cons

The New York City regional office is in utter chaos. The employee that wrote the review "Cliques, gossip, and sycophants rule upper management" hit the nail on the head. In order to grow your career in the New York City within Equity, you must go against what is morally and ethically right. The company promotes Doing The Right Thing. If gossiping to succeed, inappropriate relationships with the regional team, sharing of confidential information, and setting different standards based on the clique you are in, is Doing The Right Thing. The Equity's NYC management team is doing just that.
